Alligators can sense when water is going to freeze so they’ll stick their noses up above the waterline and just freeze like that, going into a state similar to hibernation. Then the water thaws and they go about their business with no apparent injury. The same group of gators have made the news for doing this for the second year in a row. Gators are just like that.
I know most people are cowards don’tlike the idea of giant carnivores that are close to human lives, but this is so cute.
Fun fact: if you know your feline body language, you’ll notice that the lynx is deferring to the housecat. As far as these two are concerned, the housecat is the higher-ranking cat.
There’s a team of women in India who bring justice to the oppressed women of their country. ‘The Gulabi Gang’ wear pink saris, carry bamboo sticks as weapons, and are trained in counter- aggression techniques, like smearing abusive men with chili powder. Growing up in an abusive household is a fucking trip dude……If you’ve never had someone angrily wash a dish at you or fold a sock in your direction then how are you gonna understand why I get nervous when you quietly do the laundry, or why I ask “are you mad at me?” when you set the bag of groceries down too hard? It’s a totally different way of living and it impacts you long after you’ve left the situation.
